Boston-bred, Nashville-based artist George Kamel has been described as swoon-worthy, infectious, and imaginative. Drawing influences from Bon Iver, The Avett Brothers and David Bazan, Kamel effectively unites the ethereal and earthly using an impressive array of folk instrumentation, while guiding the listener through haunting seasons of beauty and pain. A northern boy dipped in southern tradition, Kamel writes with a warmth and transparency that is simultaneously soothing and convicting. Rather than following trends, Kamel strives to write songs that are both timeless and meaningful. His latest efforts, The Great Coward, include nine songs that breathe Americana folk.
